Town smash five past Westfield

LEE WATERHOUSE opened his account for Steyning Town Football Club with a well-earned hat-trick in the 5-1 demolition of second-placed Westfield on Tuesday.

Skipper James Davis notched his second goal in a week, while James Pargeter grabbed his fourth in as many games to complete the rout of the Division 2 promotion contenders.

Town had fallen behind to Chris Smith's 18th-minute strike, but they dug in with grit and determination to secure a remarkable comeback at The Shooting Field.

STEYNING: Angell; Davis, S.Duffett, Pickford, Pratt; Waterhouse, Schofield, Dutton, Miller; C.Duffett, Pargeter. Subs: Dalgleish (Pargeter 81), Trower, Edmonds.

Also in Division 2, Southwick crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Lingfield.
