Sussex prove fearsome in Foursomes

SUSSEX came an excellent second in the South-East Junior Foursomes at The Warren in Essex '“ an inter-county event involving nine counties.Berks, Bucks and Oxford were worthy winners but the Sussex team of Ashley Rees, Matt Turner, Ross Mist, Stuart Barber, Ali Dalgliesh, Dave Nickson, Aaron Lansberry and Adam Galbraith did Sussex proud, and was in contention right up to the last putt.

On the first day Sussex beat Kent and Middlesex in the morning by 2 games to 1, Matt and Stuart, and Ashley and Ali gaining maximum points, with Ashley and Ali being four under on the last six holes.

In the afternoon again only Matt and Stuart won, but all other games went to the wire.

The following day, after great motivation from coach Ryan Fenwick, the team was ready and an impressive Sussex performance saw wins against Surrey and Hertfordshire, with again Ashley and Ali and Stuart and Matt gaining maximum points.
