Sussex Community Shield match part of Horsham's pre-season schedule

Horsham will contest for the Sussex Community Shield in August as part of their newly-announced pre-season schedule.

The club have revealed their pre-season fixtures ahead of their return to the Ryman League next season and it includes the tradition match for the county’s silverware.

As Southern Combination League winners, they will face the victor of Friday’s Sussex Senior Cup final between Eastbourne Borough and Worthing for the shield at Culver Road on Tuesday, August 2.

Their warm-up matches prior to the season will kick-off against Worthing United on Tuesday, July 12, and the Hornets go on to test themselves against Conference South side Whitehawk, Ryman League Premier sides Worthing and Bognor as well as matches against Southern Combination League and Southern Central League opposition.

Full fixture list: July, 12, Wothing Utd (A); Tues, July 19, Newhaven (A); Sat, July 23, Whitehawk (A); Tues, July 26, Loxwood (at Lancing); Sat, July 30, Worthing (A); Tues, Aug 2, Sussex Community Shield, Eastbourne Borough or Worthing (at Lancing); Thurs, Aug 4, Bognor (H); Sat, Aug 8, East Preston (A).
