STEYNING SLIP AND RISE AGAIN

STEYNING were probably wishing they hadn't bothered re-arranging Saturday's game so soon when Seaford blitzed them at The Shooting Field last Wednesday.

Seaford won a corner in the 11th minute and Roy Ranger swung the ball high into the goal area where Andy Ewen was completely deceived by the flight as it flew first over his head, then his defender on the line to go straight in and give Seaford the lead.

Then, in the 14th minute, Seaford increased their advantage. Barry Knight drove the ball across the face of the goal and Tom Callaghan dived in at the far post to touch it in.

It was 3-0 two minutes later when Callaghan played the ball onto Knight at the far post and he made no mistake to finish.
