Sidley take up the chase

SECOND half goals from Owen Ball and Russell Eldridge gave Sidley United a 2-0 win at home to Littlehampton Town.

The victory keeps the Blues in second place in the Sussex First Division but a massive 13 points behind runaway leaders Burgess Hill Town.

Littlehampton posed one or two problems in the opening period at Gullivers before Sidley went ahead through Ball s fine finish 15 seconds into the second half.

Peter Heritage and Peter Baker were both denied by the woodwork before Eldridge wrapped up the points on 65 minutes.

Bexhill Town crashed 5-2 away to East Sussex Premier League leaders Wadhurst United in the second round of the Hastings FA Intermediate Cup.
