Sidley invite to ex-Saints boss

SIDLEY United joint manager Peter Heritage has admitted to inviting Terry White to train with the club.

Heritage spoke to White shortly after his departure as St Leonards manager last week but insists the conversation was held chiefly because they are friends.

Heritage said: "I spoke to him although it was just out of friendship. He was going to come training with us (on Tuesday night). If he's available and wants to come over then he's more than welcome. I think it's a challenge that he wants."

Fellow joint manager Glen Sully played down the talk though by admitting White didn't attend the session.

Heritage added however: "There's a couple of players we are definitely interested in" at St Leonards.

Sidley travel to second-placed Horsham YMCA on Saturday January 18 with Chris Copley in line for a possible return from injury. Paul Balch has work commitments and Jimmy Watson is on holiday.
