Sidley celebrate first win

SIDLEY finally broke their duck in Division Two of the Sussex Cricket League with a 74-run defeat of Littlehampton.

Despite the victory Peter King's side remain rooted to the foot of the table after losing five of their previous six games.

The writing has been on the wall in the last few games however, as Sidley's batting totals have been increasing and this time they were able to declare on 205-7.

King led by example with a fine 42, and Scott Woodroffe (48) and John Haffenden (33) duly followed suit. Stuart Stoneham (3-46) was the pick of the visiting bowlers.

King (3-49) also played a key role with the ball as Littlehampton were dismissed for 131. Pick of the attack though, was Dan Reed who returned impressive figures of 5-25.
