RUGBY FIGHTBACK TOO LATE

THIS WAS the last league game for both sides and was a derby battle for mid-table superiority at Kings Manor on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams took a time to settle and neither side wanted to risk going wide and tried to run down the narrow side.

When the Shoreham forwards eventually got the ball they worked in tandem and an excellent break gave John Horrocks the chance to go over, and Gary Howorth converted. Howorth added a try of his own five minutes later, but was unable to add the extra two points.

It was then Arun's turn to attack and, from a tap penalty, scrum-half Scott Elliott grabbed a try back.
