Rivals unable to defy The Odds

ODDFELLOWS Arms have retained the Hastings & East Sussex Football League with a game to spare.

The Odds secured the Division One title after a 1-0 win over Hastings Postal and a 2-2 draw with Bo-Peep, putting them one point clear of Tilekiln Community Centre who have completed their league programme.

Matt Syrett scored against The Posties, while Darren Still and Nikos Vlassis were on target to secure the last point they needed to win the league.

Peasmarsh are now bottom of the table after Robin Hood withdrew from the league as they have struggled to raise a team for the last two months.

The Division Two title could go down to the wire as Harrow lead Tackleway by five points but have played two games more.

Spartan and Comet occupy the bottom two places.

Silverhill Club are champions in Division Three after storming to a 4-1 win over runners-up Unilock thanks to goals from Darrol Parris, Darren Ransome, Dave Bullen and Steve Tomlin.

Towers will avoid the wooden spoon and overtake Bexhill AAC II if they win their last game of the season.
