Speedy Bognor athletes making up for lost time
Club runs and races were put on hold when many had been training for marathons, half marathons and 10ks before they were cancelled.
Small group runs were allowed, and there have been virtual weekly 5ks, scavenger hunts, rainbow runs, runners’ bingo, an awards night live streamed and regular updates on their Facebook page.

Hide AdThere was an early trip Brighton for a 6:30am start for 20 relay runners and two ultra runners.
Anne Enes and Gary Pidgeon set off from Bright on their 41 mile ultra, heading up to the South Downs Way, making the first ten miles tough. Both started off well and came through the first checkpoint looking strong.
Despite temperatures rising the pair kept a steady pace. Enes finished sixth overall and first female in an outstanding 6hr 43min 6sec.
Pidgeon finished in 7.25.48 accompanied by two other Tone Zone members finishing the relay.

Hide AdIn the relay the ‘Finding Byron a Portaloo’ team finished first in 5.02.59.
Jack Penfold, Byron Kearns, Peter Lee and Mark Green made up the team.
The Nifty Fifties – Duncan Stephenson-Gill, Lee Boniface, Gary Smith and Christo Oosthuizen – finished third for Tone Zone in 5.24.
The team ‘Only in it for the burger’ comprised David and Sharon Rowe and Kirstee and Allen Porter – they finished in 6.17.

Hide AdTeam Allsorts finished bang on seven hours thanks to Jackie Williamson, Debs Pacey, Karen Blackman and Lisa Robinson.
Donna Strowger, Karen Vilday, Natalie Tribe and Lucy Isitt made up team Happy Feet and finished in 7.24.
In Farnham, Michelle Maxim flew the flag for Tone Zone. She ran the undulating half marathon route in 2.43.34.
