Hot Rod pilots all out for glory

The Hot Rod Open was one of the highlights of the racing season at Angmering in the past, drawing large grids of star drivers and delighting racing fans with a day of high-octane short circuit motor racing.

The event has not been run for several years, but returns with the promoters, Oval Race Club, aiming to make the reborn event bigger and better than its predecessors.

Hot Rods from around the country will descend on the West Sussex track to fight it out for the title and a cool 1,000 prize money.

Hot Rods in action will range from super-fast Minis, through the awesome 2.0 National Hot Rods, capable of hugely impressive speeds on the short circuit oval, to one-off specials such as a V8-powered Hillman Imp.
