FOUR LANCERS OFF

LANCING FC ended their first match of the season on Saturday with only seven players left on the pitch. New boss Mark Cox saw four of his players, all debut-makers, sent off by Eastbourne referee Peter Lindsay, who also dismissed an opponent, issued eight yellow cards and reported Lancing vice-chairman John Rea for foul and abusive language after the final whistle.

First off, at 1-0, was ex-Worthing star Wesley Lopez, for violent retaliation in the 27th minute.

Then Keith Mtambara walked, for foul and abusive language after a linesman's offside flag, two minutes from the interval, and Mtambara verbally abused Lindsay on the way.
