Wins for Rye, Bexhill & Common

Bexhill United, Little Common and Rye United all picked up three points on Saturday.

Rye kept the pressure on Sussex County Football League Division One leaders Pagham with a 1-0 win at home to Horsham YMCA. Liam Upton scored the only goal in the 54th minute.

Also in Division One, Sidley United conceded after just 17 seconds en route to a 2-0 loss away to East Grinstead Town.

In Division Two, Bexhill came from two-down to win 4-2 at home to bottom club Midhurst & Easebourne. Dominic Clarke struck twice to make it 16 for the season, while Linton Rogers and Paul Rogers also netted.

Russell Eldridge picked up his first win as Little Common player/manager with a 2-0 success at home to Seaford Town. Both goals came during the first half with Callum Wooller and Dom Bristow on target.

Westfield slipped below Common to second-bottom on the back of a 4-2 reverse at home to Storrington despite a brace of goals from David Pugh. Full reports on all of these matches will appear in Friday’s Observers.
