United hoping for more of same

Hastings United will hope to make it four matches unbeaten away to Billericay Town tonight (Tuesday).

The U’s have been in improved form of late, following up successive draws against Folkestone Invicta and Lowestoft Town with a 3-2 win at home to Tooting & Mitcham United on Saturday.

That result kept them in the final safe spot of fifth-bottom in the Premier Division of the Ryman Football League. Seventh-placed Billericay are only outside the play-off places on goal difference. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

Elsewhere tonight, Rye United will seek to follow up their FA Vase heroics when they travel to higher grade Worthing in round three of the Sussex Senior Cup.

Paul Nessling is expected to play in goal with Josh Pelling unavailable, Danny Simmons is cup-tied and Paul Watson unavailable, while Jack Dixon and Shaun Loft are struggling through injury.

Manager Scott Price sees the match against Ryman Division One South side Worthing as a “good test” for his Sussex County League high-flyers.
