talkSPORT will be tracking a particular team all the way through the world famous competition during the 2015/16 season.

Loxwood were the first side in the spotlight, but because they were beaten by Bexhill in the extra preliminary round, the baton has now been taken up by the Pirates.

Bexhill manager Marc Munday was interviewed live on the national radio station last Saturday night, even though he believed it was a ‘wind up’ when first told about it!

He said: “It’s quite a big thing for us and hopefully we’ll get some more followers because of it.

“I came on after someone was talking about Barcelona and Real Madrid, which was quite surreal! They were asking about the club, the history, the team itself and what’s happened in previous games. It was a bit of fun.”

Bexhill will be aiming ‘to do themselves justice’ when they take on Faversham Town - who play their football two levels higher up the non-league pyramid - in the preliminary round tomorrow (Saturday).

Munday said: “We just hope we can do ourselves a bit of justice. We just don’t want to get embarrassed. They’re odds on favourites and we know we’ve got a tough game on our hands, but let’s hope they under-estimate us.”

Bexhill were drawn at home, but were unable to play the match at The Polegrove as the ground is currently in the hands of Bexhill Cricket Club. No other grounds in the area were available either so the game has been switched to Faversham.

“We’re not expected to win so let’s make it an away day,” continued Munday. “It’s a day out on a nicer ground than we’re used to playing on. We’re getting a coach over there and we’re just looking forward to the experience.”

Munday expects to welcome back a host of players, although this week he was hoping to bring in an established goalkeeper to cover for the banned Yankuba Camara.

“I’ve got headaches, but great headaches,” he added. “I feel they will be a big, strong Ryman South side so I will be putting people in that hopefully can hold their own in that.”
