Sidley pull off fine victory

With Hastings United fixtureless at the weekend, attention switched to the area’s Sussex County Football League clubs.

Sidley United continued their improved form with a very good 2-1 win at home to Chichester City in Division One.

Terry Payne and Jason Taylor put the Blues two-up at half time, but Sean Kelly’s own goal near the end gave Chichester hope.

The visitors had a goal disallowed in stoppage time for a foul on Harry Killick. Both sides had a player sent-off in the second half, Dan Cruikshank seeing red for Sidley.

Westfield ran out 3-2 winners in the Division Two derby away to Little Common thanks to a hat-trick from David Pugh which made it 15 for the season.

The visitors were 1-0 up at half time and went on to lead 3-0 after 73 minutes before Common rallied through goals in the last 10 minutes by Lewis Hole and Steve Morris.

Both sides finished the game with 10 men after Common left-back Alex Humphrey and Westfield substitute Roberto Martelini were sent-off deep into added time.
