Saunders leaves Haywards Heath Town to join Horsham

Callum Saunders has left Haywards Heath Town to join Isthmian Premier side Horsham after five seasons at the Hanbury club.

Saunders joined Heath back in November 2015 and that season went on to make 24 appearances scoring 15 and assisting goals 15 times as Heath secured promotion.

The following season the influential attacking midfielder made 37 appearances scoring 20 times and making another 22 goals.

In 2017/18 and injury saw him only feature 23 times with a return of eight goals and four assists as Heath gained promotion to the Isthmian league.

In the club's maiden year in the Bostik South East, Saunders made 44 appearances, was top scorer on 27 goals as well as assisting another 15. At the end of season awards he cleared up taking nearly every award going where the fans, management and fellow players all recognised him for his outstanding season.

This year's BetVictor season saw Callum pick up an injury in early January with the last game he played was Heath's 3-1 win over Cray Valley PM at Hanbury. He had still featured 22 times and scored 10 goals on the way.

The club said: "All at the club would like to wish Callum well as he tests himself once again at the level above, he has been an incredible servant to Heath over five seasons with a total of 150 appearances, 82 goals and 64 assists.

"Callum has provided many memorable moments but the strike from the half way line to beat James Shaw in the Three Bridges goal in 2018/19 will live long in the memory."
