Late goal denies United

Hastings United had to settle for a 1-1 draw away to Kingstonian after conceding an 89th minute equaliser.

After an uneventful and goalless first half to their final fixture before Christmas, Ben Davisson marked his return to United colours by opening the scoring in the 48th minute today (Saturday).

United missed a glorious chance to double their advantage 10 minutes later when Lee Carey’s penalty was saved after a shot by Davisson, pictured, was handled.

That miss was to prove costly as Tom Hutchinson headed Kingstonian level late on. United are 15th in the Ryman Football League Premier Division table going into the festive period.

United: Armstrong-Ford, Manning, Sutton, Carey, Ray, Jirbandey, Dixon, Crellin, Medlock, Attwood, Davisson. Subs: Whitehead, Thomson, Barham, Gonsalves, Hopkinson.
