Golds went a goal ahead through Ross McKay but were then pegged back and fell 2-1 behind, before Liam Humphreys equalised with 15 minutes to go.

Littlehampton boss Bennett said: “It was a disappointing result, to be honest, but the positive we can take is that we have four points from two away matches.

“We conceded a pretty sloppy second goal and the first was a penalty, so we could have done better.”

Golds made a fast start to the game and could have been two up inside two minutes.

Michael Hendrick broke down the right and crossed for George Landais but he shot straight at the home keeper.

Hendrick was involved again when he crossed for George Gaskin, who also fired straight at the keeper.

Littlehampton did take the lead just after half-time when McKay slammed home following a goalmouth scramble.

McKay went from hero to villian, though, when he conceded a penalty 20 seconds later and Tim Martin levelled for Loxwood.

The Golds then fell a goal behind as Shaun Findlay fired home with 15 minutes to play.

The hosts’ lead was short lived, though, as Humphreys levelled just 30 seconds later.

McKay nearly bagged his second and a late winner for Littlehampton but his header struck the bar as they were forced to settle for a point.
