Crawley Town’s Paul Connolly has decided to make an official appeal against his FA charge of violent conduct involving a spectator in Tuesday night’s match at Brentford.

The incident was not seen by the match officials but was caught on video.

The FA has also submitted that the standard punishment of a three-match suspension would be clearly insufficient given the nature of the offence.

Paul Connolly had until 6pm last night to inform the FA if he wished to appeal against the charge.
