However, one man that is being tipped to return to the South Coast before the deadline on Monday, February 1 is Shane Duffy.

The Irishman’s dream season-long loan move to Celtic last summer has swiftly turned sour following a huge dip in form, coupled with the Hoops’ position in the Scottish Premiership table.

There was speculation Duffy’s loan could be cancelled this month with Nottingham Forest an option, who are managed by former Albion boss Chris Hughton.

And former Sunderland and Scotland striker Kevin Kyle has no doubt about what Duffy should do this month.

“See Shane Duffy? I don’t like saying this but I think he would just be better off going,” he told Open Goal.

“Do it for yourself if anything else. The confidence is just zapped out of Celtic just now.

“I feel like they have accepted that it is over. I’ve said for a few weeks it is over with.

“When you are in a team you need to keep believing and keep working hard. I just don’t see that anymore with Celtic.

“We have all played football and when you are having a stinker you always say to yourself to just keep doing the basics right.

“You then get a bit of confidence and the better things start to happen. They are not even doing the basic things right.

“It is disrespectful to the football club and it is disrespectful to the fans.
