Bexhill beaten on their travels

BEXHILL remain second from bottom in the Sussex Premier League after slumping to an eight-wicket defeat away to Horsham.

The visitors were dismissed for 138 off 56.1 overs after opting to take first knock. Skipper Malcolm Johnson top-scored with 31 and Tom Powell weighed in with 26. The only other batsmen to reach double figures were Jamie Wicks (19) and Andrew Harriott (14).

The wickets were shared among Michael Munday (3-39), William Beer (2-21) and Matt Barry (2-34).

Horsham reached their target for the loss of two wickets off 28.2 overs thanks to an opening stand of 92 between James Johnson (60 not out) and John Burroughs (40).
