Bexhill promotion hopes dented by defeat
BEXHILL's hopes of promotion from Sussex Division Two suffered a serious dent on Saturday as they lost by two wickets against Roffey in a tight game at The Polgrove.
The home side declared on 209-7 thanks to skipper Sam Roberts (55) and Martin Barry (54), while Umer De Alvis took 3-52 for Roffey.
Simon Shivnarain clocked up 67 to help Roffey to 210-8 in reply, despite the efforts of Matthew Blackman (4-26) and Roberts (2-65).
