Urbanrace event director, Dan James, said: "Our team has worked really hard since 2004 to develop the Sussex and Brighton Triathlons into what we think are two of the best races available to triathletes of all levels.

"The Brighton event is always a success, thanks largely to the stunning setting, the layout, the close proximity of spectators, and the fact that the city offers endless possibilities for other pre-and-post race activities".

Athletes will be lined up and ready for action from 11am onwards with Sprint, Olympic and Team waves featuring once more.

The race starts with a sea swim, before taking to the promenade area for the bike and running disciplines.

Although entries for this weekend's event have now closed, interested athletes and spectators are welcome to attend and speak with the staff to understand more about the Brighton Triathlon and the sport in general.

Entries for Sussex 2009 are already available and applications for Brighton 2009 will be opening soon, but with strict capacity rules in place.
