Woman killed in crash

A woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash.

The woman, in her 50s from the Polegate area, was driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra north on the A22 at Uckfield, north of the junction with the B2102, yesterday (Tuesday) at 3.25pm.

It was involved in a collision with a Leyland Daf tipper which was being driven south by a local man.

The tipper was then in collision with a Ford Fiesta van which had been travelling behind the Vectra.

The woman driving the Vectra suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
