The Environment Agency has said that spring tides today and tomorrow could combine with strong winds which could also lead to spray overtopping flood defences. However the risk of widespread flooding has been deemed to be low.

It has also warned that the expected weather could cause some disruption to the transport system and to holidaymakers.

Environment Agency staff are checking flood defences, ensuring rivers are free from debris, monitoring river flows, levels and rain gauge stations.
