Village may lose public toilet in next round of cuts

Wisborough Green may lose its public toilet under plans currently being considered by Chichester District Council.

The public convenience, in Loxwood Road, is one of 21 operated by the council, which may close under a range of options being put forward to save around £100,000.

The final say will be made by CDC’s cabinet on Tuesday February 5 at 9.30 at a meeting in East Pallant House, Chichester.

Officers said the toilets could be shut because of ‘low usage’ and the ‘proximity’ of other facilities, with closure possible in March 2014.

John Connor, member for the environment, said that budget cuts were forcing difficult decisions on the council.
