Valuable paintings stolen

VALUABLE paintings were stolen from a house in Lewes. Between 1pm and 6pm on March 17, a burglary took place at a home in New Road.

No one was in at the time.

The burglar made a search of the house before removing the paintings from their frames and taking them.

Police have issued a description of two of the pictures; one is an oil painting of a nativity scene and the other is a watercolour of a castle.

A description has yet to be issued for the third painting, which is said to be rendered in oil.
