Udimore village voice

Next Friday, July 27, from 10am till noon our Police Community Support Officer, Richard Perchard, will be at the Farmers’ Market in Brede Village Hall to answer any questions we may have about policing or other community-related matters.

He is invariably very helpful and well worth consulting.

On this subject, recent Neighbourhood Watch newsletters have reported a marked local increase in thefts from garden sheds and garages. So far incidents of this sort seem to have been rare in Udimore, but we can’t count on our luck continuing - it’s worth making sure that sheds and garages are fitted with strong locks, and locking them at night, or if you’re away from home during the day.

Besides the village group photograph, Cliff Willard also took several other photos of our Diamond Jubilee celebrations on June 3 - you may have seen some of them in the Rye Observer the following week. If you would like to order any copies, of various sizes, Cliff was hoping to be able to leave a set of proofs at Bob Turgoose’s home, Field’s House, by the time you read this. Before calling there to see them, please give Bob a ring (01424 882657) to arrange a suitable time.
