Vehicle rolls after pensioner crashes into parked car

A car rolled onto its side after colliding with a parked car in Brighton Road, Horsham this afternoon (Friday August 21).

The road was closed in both directions between the junctions at Elm Grove and St Leonard’s Road following the crash near the Tanner’s Arms pub at 2.05pm.

A red Hyundai, driven by a local woman, aged 82, struck a parked white Fiat 500 and rolled onto its side.

The driver of the Hyundai was trapped and was released by firefighters.

She sustained only minor injuries but was taken to Guildford Hospital to be checked, according to Sussex Police.

The A281 road was closed to through traffic for just over an hour while the incident was dealt with.

The road reopened at 3.10pm.
