TOO MANY DOGS NOT ENOUGH HOMES

DOG lovers are being asked to give a home to lonely pooches.

Hastings Council's dog wardens have simply too many dogs in their care at the moment and they need to find homes for them.

The problem is that the council has space for just six dogs at any one time and they can't keep pace and move on dogs before more come in.

At one point last week 10 dogs were in the wardens' care and they were relying on the goodwill of local kennels to support these unfortunate pets.

Rod Bridger, senior dog warden with the council, said good homes were desperately needed for the dogs in his care.

He said: "As soon as we are finished with one dog there is another one to pick up. Some are in very poor condition while others are really lovely dogs that just need homes."
