RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION: Telscombe Residents’ Association meet on the first Thursday of each month from 7.15pm to 9.15pm at the Civic Centre. Email the secretary at [email protected] for a copy of the meeting agenda.

SUPPORT GROUP: Breast Cancer Support Group meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 1pm to 3.30pm at the Civic Centre. Contact email: [email protected]

DANCE CLASS: Pre-school age 2 to 4 years dance class every Tuesday from 9.15am to 9.45am at the Civic Centre, £3.50 per session. Contact Anneli Smith via Civic Centre, 01273 589777.

ZUMBA CLASS: Every Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm at the Civic Centre. This is an exhilarating, effective, easy to follow, Latin inspired, calorie burning dance fitness party. Just drop in and join the fun. £5 per class or five classes for £20. Contact Alex Murphy 07988 610269.

FITNESS PILATES: Every Monday 9.30am to 10.30am and Thursday 7.30pm to 8.30pm at the Civic Centre. Get fit, tone up, prevent back pain and improve flexibility and posture. FOOTNOTES: It was the best of days and it was the worst of days, to paraphrase the opening of Dicken’s Tale of Two Cities. Having on Thursday made up my mind to get up early, I slept through the alarm and got up an hour late, (how I miss Rupert and Jack, who would never have allowed this to happen). I then planned to vote, do the shopping and then home to a script I am revising. Rushing out to the car, which started beautifully, and then refused to move. The brakes had jammed on. Back indoors to phone my local and very helpful garage, to find the sole owner was on holiday. Rang the breakdown service and they promised a man within the hour. Back out to the car, started it up and found the brakes had freed themselves. Back indoors to cancel the breakdown man. Drove to polling station, voted and then down to Sainsburys for the bi-weekly shopping, reached the cash point, trolley packed to find I had left my wallet on my desk at home. Apologies to cashier and raced back home for wallet. Back to supermarket to retrieve and pay for shopping, and home to find a parcel I had been anxiously waiting for was not delivered because I was not there, and was sitting in the sorting office. Down to sorting office etc., etc. It was not a day I would care to repeat and it ended with my going to bed a little earlier than usual, based on the fact that if I heard or watched anything more on the Referendum I would go quietly insane or die of boredom. And my script remained unrevised. Such is life, or at any rate, mine. Go safely, wherever your life takes you.
