Tegan treks the Rift Valley

TEGAN Jones, assistant Guider at 1st Bexhill Guides, has recently returned from her fundraising trek through Tanzania's Rift Valley.

In total, the group of Guiders raised more than £30,000 for the centenary fund, which helps UK girl guides to fulfil a dream which could be anything from attending a women’s forum, camping or learning an instrument.

The group trekked more than 60km through tough terrain varying from volcanic ask to grass savannah. As well as being physically challenging, Tegan (pictured) said she had a humbling and eye-opening experience walking alongside the Masai and their culture.

Tegan would like to thank everyone who generously supported the centenary fund and her personally, especially: the Royal Sovereign Light Lodge, Barbara and Don Boyd-Stevenson, Bexhill Trefoil Guild, Girlguiding Bexhill Division, Captain Rachel Page and grandmothers Chris Jones and Pat Clements.
