Taxi firms merge

Two heads are definitely better than one, according to Nick Croft and Roger Williams of the newly merged Sidley Central Taxis based in Sidley Street.

"Joining up has taken the pressure off," explained Nick this week as they celebrated their launch.

"There is a lot of pressure running a company on your own. It's a lot better now."

The two men have known each other for 20 years, since the days Roger worked part-time in the evenings for Nick's Sidley Kabs before going on to establish his own name with Central Taxis of Bexhill.

They decided to join forces to form one business, with a fleet of 12 full-timers and 3 part-timers, and this week celebrated with a party for friends and customers.

Town Mayor Stuart Earl was happy to join the occasion; "It's good to get some good news in Sidley and see a success story. I wish you every success in the future and any free cabs going my way will be most welcome......"

"There have been over the years many entrepreneurs in Sidley, and my own family started here in business 80 years ago; so to see businesses doing well makes me very happy."
