Students are party hosts

The fun included a performance of Jack and the Beanstalk, written by students Will Brook and Nicola Wood, songs from Rebecca Hossany and Jo Cann, cleverly choreographed dancing and carol singing.

After the performance the guests were ushered into the school dining hall to feast on Christmas fare. Hailsham Community College sixth formers worked hard under the direction of their head of sixth form, Mrs Linda Philips, to achieve success.

They raised 1,070 to finance the party by organising a TV and Stage Characters event last week, produced the party food, made the decorations and devised and performed the entertainment. 'We would like to thank the Hailsham shops that were kind enough to donate raffle prizes,' said sixth former Kayleigh Squires.
