Strikes will not impact on district council services

A NATIONAL strike will not affect services in Arun, say the district council.

Staff at the council are expected to take part in a planned day of industrial action, on Wednesday (November 30), but an Arun spokeswoman said contingency plans were in place.

The council’s chief executive Nigel Lynn said: “We will not know the full extent of how many staff will be striking until the day itself.

“However, all Arun managers have been working for some time to ensure that the effect on their own services and the impact on our residents, especially the most vulnerable, is kept to a minimum.”

None of Arun’s contractors will strike so refuse and recycling will be collected as normal, and receptions, at Arun Civic Centre, Littlehampton, and Bognor Regis Town Hall, will be open.
