St Michael’s VintageFair to be at Bodiam

The St Michael’s Hospice Fabulously Vintage Fair has found a new venue in Bodiam for this year’s event, which will take place on Saturday September 19, 10-4pm.

This year, due to the recent fire at the Hospice, the event will be held in the grounds of Mad Hatters Fancy Dress, Ockham Oast House, Staplecross Road, Bodiam.

Organisers say it promises to be even bigger and better than ever and will be hosted by the infamous Viv the Spiv, with live entertainment and food stalls.

Visitors will have the opportunity to be transported back in time. Browse a vast collection of vintage and retro stalls in the ‘vintage market place’ and enjoy a day of traditional village fete games, vintage tearooms, vintage hair and makeup and Lindy Hoppers (an American dance that evolved in the 1920s).

A children’s marquee will include games, workshops, face painting, bouncy castle and storytelling (all with vintage prices!), There will be vintage cars, motorbikes and military vehicles to browse, live entertainment and a vintage photo booth.

Bruni Llovet, Head of Marketing at St Michael’s says it will be a fun day. “We invite everyone to dig out their best vintage attire and enjoy a day out for all the family,” she said. “We are excited to be holding the Fair in Bodiam, which is in the north of our catchment area of Hastings and Rother.”

“We are delighted to have received so much support from the local community in helping us to move the event to this beautiful location.”
