Sports club has a new chairman for the new year
Colin Rogers has succeeded Ray Kidd in charge of Bognor Regis Sports Club.
Mr Kidd stepped down earlier this month after 12 years as the club’s chairman. He was presented with an inscribed whisky decanter by his fellow members of the committee.
However, he is staying with the club as its secretary.

“It will be for a variety of improvements, not yet prioritised, but the long list includes a balcony extension for improved cricket viewing, an upgrade to changing and bar facilities, improved insulation and solar panels and probably new fencing and better drainage to the grounds,” he said.
He said Mr Kidd had been a diligent and effective chairman and had handed over the role with the club in a reasonably good stage of repairs and its finances sound.
Mr Rogers also wants to start a website for the squash section.
The club has an umbrella role for the lawn tennis and bowls clubs, which are independent.
