Show must go on for Razzamataz

Ellen is handing over Littlehampton Razzamataz to new owners this summer, and will then spend more time in Miami Beach, Florida, where she was living and running a theatre company before setting up her venture here.

“In show business it’s important to know when it’s time to go,” she said.

“I have had a wonderful time in Littlehampton and shall miss the town, the school, parents and teachers – but Miami Beach does have its attractions!”

Ellen, who is married to veteran broadcaster Derek Jameson, added that she was “delighted” to be passing on the school to an experienced stage school principal Jeanette Bowman and her husband Jack, who are returning from three years living in Spain.

“The school will be in excellent hands and I confidently assure all our young performers that the growth and great success of the school will continue to be developed and Razzamataz classes will continue to be held at The Littlehampton Academy with the same team of teachers in place.”

Before she takes her final bow, Ellen, will be overseeing Razzamataz’s Summer Stage Academy at the Windmill Entertainment Centre from August 1-5 and will also be actively involved with the town council’s Space workshops at the end of August.

The handover to Jeanette takes place over the summer and from September she and Jack will be the school’s principals.

“My thanks go to the Littlehampton community who have enthusiastically supported Razzamataz and I am proud of our wonderful school of young performers.

“We have had some magical performance experiences and I wish everyone all the best for the future,” said Ellen.
