Several Horsham district roads repaired in July

The two year scheme – launched in April – will see £30m invested in rural and residential roads over the next two years.

So far since the Better Roads Programme started:

271 sites across West Sussex have been repaired, the equivalent of 49% of the entire programme;

Nearly £7.2m of the £30m budget has been spent;

369,761 square metres of road surface has been repaired; and

Almost 100% of material removed during the work has been recycled.

County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Pieter Montyn, said: “We are making satisfying progress, month by month, with the Better Roads Programme.

“We are doing everything we can to make our roads safe for residents and return them to the standards of a few years ago.”

The following roads were repaired in July:

Rectory Road, Ashington – surface dressing;

Frylands Lane, Shermanbury – repairs;

Frylands Lane, Shermanbury – surface dressing;

Chantry Lane, Storrington – surface dressing;

Northlands Lane, Storrington – surface dressing;

Haglands Lane, West Chiltington – surface dressing;

Old Guildford Road, Broadbridge Heath – surface dressing;

Capel Road, Rusper – surface dressing;

Comptons Lane, Horsham – surface dressing;

Forest Road, Horsham – surface dressing;

Grebe Crescent, Horsham – surface dressing;

Heron Way, Horsham – surface dressing;

Kerves Lane, Horsham – repairs;

Langhurst Wood Road, Horsham - surface dressing;

Rusper Road, Horsham – surface dressing;

Waterlands Lane, Rowhook – surface dressing;

The council say that to find out if your road is due to be repaired, visit www.westsussexhighways.org/pages/betterroads and type the name of your road or town into the search bar.

All dates are subject to change due to weather conditions and to allow contractor Balfour Beatty the flexibility to respond to any unforeseen circumstances.

The council adds that for the most up-to-date information, check the yellow notice boards located in streets where work is due to take place.

This will tell you the exact date work is due to start.
