Schools concert at Claremont raises £600

A SCHOOLS concert raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s charity.

Claremont School hosted the event, in which half a dozen schools took part in.

Coined The Show, it contained all genres of music starting with the Amplifies playing Wonderwall through to The Claremont Palm Court Orchestra with their rendition of Beside the Seaside.

The ambitious show included Helenswood musicians KS4 and Helenswood Dance with a beautiful interpretation of The Ground Beneath you Falls, complimented by performances from Acromax.

Inspired by the Rotary Club of Hastings, Claremont School donated the proceeds of The Show, which totalled more than £600, to Hope and Homes for Children.

Monica Esslin-Peard, the school’s director of music, co-ordinated the event.

Mark Beaumont, school principal, said: “We were delighted that Claremont School could host this inter-school performing arts showcase in aid of Hope and Homes for Children and hope that all those that attended enjoyed the evening.”
