Rye Primary gets visit from Torch bearer Lauren

RYE Torch bearer Lauren Gander delighted youngsters at Rye Primary when she took part in a special Olympic celebration assembly at the school last Friday.

Bexhill High School pupil Lauren, aged 12, was among those selected to carry the torch through Rye.

She has raised £140,000 for charity.

Lauren helped to inspire the pupils and develop the Olympic virtues of Friendship, Courage, Determination and Equality.

Lauren was back at Rye Primary on Thursday following the torch parade, to meet the children again, and show them her torch.

Children at the school have been working hard for weeks on inspiring projects with a multi-cultural theme says head Paul Reilly.

On Wednesday they played a key role in the huge parade that followed the Torch through Rye.
