Rustington bank staff are in the pink

STAFF at a Rustington bank are used to people going into the red or staying in the black, but they themselves opted to spend the day in pink.

And it wasn’t just the staff at the HSBC branch in The Street who turned a pinker shade of pale, with their vibrantly coloured wigs, they also put together a hamper of pink prizes to raffle to customers.

It was all in aid of the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and everyone put heart and soul into raising as much as possible.

As well as running the pink raffle, the staff sold cakes they and their families had provided, and which the village’s Co-operative supermarket had donated. The efforts made a total of £403.80p for the charity.

HSBC branch manager Angela Macaskill said it had been a “fabulous” day and she thanked the customers for their “amazing generosity”.

“With all the staff dressed in pink wigs,” she added, “it couldn’t fail to be a brilliant day!”
