RSPCA look for owner of pony abandoned in Wick

A SHETLAND pony was tied to a fence and abandoned in Lyminster.

The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses, after the male pony was left in a field, with no food or water, in Woodcote Lane, between late on Saturday (January 22) and 9.30am on Sunday.

“He suddenly appeared overnight, and was left tethered to the fence,” said RSPCA inspector Jodie Gregg.

“We are hoping that someone will have noticed something.”

He was wearing a red head collar and was tethered with a purple rope, and suffers from a condition called locked hind legs, meaning he has to be kept outside rather than in a stable.

Anyone with information is asked to call the RSCPA on 0300 1234 999.
