Residents to have sayon West Park's future

People with an interest in West Park in Aldwick are invited to a meeting next week.

The inaugural session of what is hoped to become the Friends of West Park will take place between 7pm-8.30pm next Thursday, January 24. Its location will be the Russell Hotel in nearby King's Parade.

The Friends will give people the chance to get involved in the planning and practical management of the park.

As well as the public, local organisations such as councils with an interest in the park have been invited to the meeting.

Dee Christensen, Arun District Council's senior community parks officer, said: 'West Park is extremely popular with residents, especially dog walkers and families with young children.

'A recent consultation exercise revealed nearly all respondents were happy with the park, but we are always looking to improve.

'This meeting is a great chance to anyone who uses West Park and has ideas about making such improvements to come and have their say.'

The council already has eight Friends groups around the district. Five of them are in Bognor, Aldwick and Felpham.
