Pupils raise funds for Sally Army

CASTLE Class at St Thomas’ School, Winchelsea, presented Angela Bailey, from the Ore Village Salvation Army, with a cheque for £470. The children came up with the idea to raise money with a sponsored jog after learning about the Salvation Army, and their founder, William Booth, in RE lessons.

Mrs Bailey came in to share with the children about what it is like to be a member of the organisation. Dianne Nunn, from the school, said: “They had great delight in trying on her hats and attempting to play the flugelhorn.”
