Police slam vandals who targetlife-saving machine in village

The defibrillator machine, was removed sometime between Monday July 14 and 3.30pm on Tuesday July 15.

The defibrillator machine was later found undamaged in a hedge by the member of the public.

Inspector James Scott said: “We would like to speak to anybody with information about the defibrillator so we can establish why it was moved.

“Defibrillator machines are potential life saving pieces of equipment which are often situated in exterior public locations for members of the public to access if needed.

“Vandalism, theft or deliberate misuse of these machines will not be tolerated and we will always investigate incidents of this nature.”

Police are appealing for any information about the incident.

Police are also investigating three incidents in which cars parked in Stonegate and Robertsbridge had their rear screens smashed.

The incidents happened on Monday and Tuesday this week.
