Poems of the weekChristmas Message

SOME Sussex folk on Christmas morn

Sing hymns of when our Christ was born

But some of they are Inn-ward bound

And celebrate on different ground

Which ever way our minds are bent

There’s Joy and Peace that’s Heaven sent

The night sky shines and mysteries sing

O’er Church and Inn and all good things

And if you pause to stand awhile

You’ll hear on path and over stile

A murmuring breeze that seems to say

Forget your hatred, come my way

Where all the world can be at peace

Where Greed and Sin and Envy cease

This message whispering our way

I heard one blessed Christmas Day.
