Shops create amazing bonfire themed window displays for Hastings Week

Shops and business across the town created attractive bonfire themed window displays when they took part in the annual Hastings Week competition.

The winning entry was Courthouse Co-operative, in Courthouse Street.

In second place was Funnell and Perring Solicitors, in the High Street, and third place went to Vintage Bird, also in the High Street.

There were three runners-up - Voodoo Sirens, Hendy and Co and Sea Whistle.

The judges were Hastings Mayor Nigel Sinden, Deputy Mayor James Bacon and his fiancée Sarah Piper. Guest judges were Lily Arnold, an award winning theatre, set and costume designer based in St Leonards, and James Thomas, a retail and hospitality brand consultant who designed window displays for Selfridges.

Cllr Bacon said: “Thank you to all of the local businesses who took part in the Hastings Week Best Dressed Window Competition which had the theme of ‘Love of Hastings Bonfire’.

It was great to see so many businesses taking part in Old Hastings Ward and the standard was very high.
