Person rescued from river in South Downs village

A person has been rescued from a river in a South Downs village by the fire service.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a person in the water at the River Stor in Storrington at 10.54am by the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).”

Two crews responded to the incident near Fryern Close, he added.

These included a wade rescue team who rescued the person from the water, according to the spokesman.
